The Nancy Sirett Memorial Lecture Award recognises an outstanding research career in the field of Endocrinology in NZ. This year the award was presented to Assoc Prof Graham Barrell, Lincoln University (pictured receiving the award from NZSE president Ryan Paul).
Assoc Prof Barrell heads the Department of Agricultural Sciences within the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Lincoln University. His diverse research interests include mammalian reproductive endocrinology, the ecology of Antarctic megafauna, antler biology and the role of C-type natriuretic peptide. Assoc Prof Barrell’s Nancy Sirett Memorial Lecture, delivered at the MedSci meeting in Queenstown, was titled “Lessons from the large animals”.
